MICHELE POOLE- OWNER
I have been an animal lover my entire life, and have always wanted to work with animals from a very young age. I remember begging the staff at our veterinarian's office to let me work for them when I was 12 years old, and them telling me I had to wait until I was 14 to work there. The day I turned 14, I was filling out my first job application and was hired on the spot as a kennel assistant. I worked at that veterinary hospital all through high school and learned enough to know that I had found my calling. I went on to become a Veterinary Technician and worked for an Anchorage veterinary clinic for over 16 years until the birth of my daughter in June 2006. I decided to pursue my dream of having my own business working with animals and that is how It's A Dog's Life started in March of 2007. I have an awesome husband named Bill and the sweetest daughter a mother could ever want named Hannah. We have two Chihuahuas named Oliver and Raisin, one Shih Tzu named Taz, one cat named Kitten, and three rescued Parakeets who don't have or want names. In my spare time, I love to do activities with my family, garage sale, and crafts. My promise to all of my clients and their dogs is this: I will always treat your dogs with love and respect and NEVER forget the reason I started this business in the first place- my love of animals and their happiness.

HOLLY CLOUD- MANAGER
Holly has been the manager of It's A Dog's Life since it was started in March of 2007. Her experience with animals and her kind nature have made her the perfect person to oversee the daily workings of our facility. Holly was raised in Virginia and Georgia and managed a Show Horse Farm outside of Atlanta. She got married and moved with her husband, Brandon, to Montana where she worked as a veterinary technician for three years at a small animal veterinary hospital . Holly and her husband moved to Alaska six years ago where Holly worked as a veterinary technician at the same Anchorage veterinary clinic where Michele worked. Holly is a certified dog trainer and may begin to give training classes at It's A Dog's Life in the future. She is also enrolled in a certified canine massage therapy program. Holly and her husband are owned by their three dogs: Poncho, Bohdi and Clyde, their three cats: Philo, Ellie and Joonie, and their two turtles: Ralph and Berry.

RANDI LEBLANC- DAYCARE ASSISTANT
Randi recently came to Alaska from Maine and we are very thankful that she did! She has a strong interest in dog behavior and would one day like to rehabilitate dogs with behavior problems. Randi is in the process of starting dog obedience school to become a trainer and then go on to become a dog behaviorist. For now, we are reaping the benefits of her knowledge. Randi is owned by a Great Pyrenese mix puppy named Nanook.

Ute Lyons Duke
Ute is one of our newest staff members and we already love her- and so do the dogs! She is from Germany where she trained dogs and devoted her time to rescuing and finding homes for homeless animals. Her experience with dogs has been a huge asset to our team and her confident, yet gentle, personality is exactly what we look for in our staff members. Ute is married and has teenage children and we are very lucky to have her working for us!
